AMMAN — The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) on Monday commended the efforts of the Royal Department for Environment Protection (Rangers) in following up violations posted on social media regarding hunting of wild species.

In a statement sent to The Jordan Times, the RSCN said that information collected by the RSCN inspectors and the environmental detective unit were transferred to the Public Security Directorate's cybercrime unit for further investigation and follow-up as per the laws until violators are arrested and referred to the court.

Agriculture Law stipulates fines against hunting of wild animals ranging between JD100 and JD2,000 for each animal depending on the scarcity of the hunted animal, in addition to confiscating weapons and in some cases imprisonment.
