The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) has established Nature Conservation Clubs (NCCs) in schools since 1986 in cooperation with the Ministry of Education with the aim of increasing environmental awareness among and through student and teacher members.  Since their inception, NCCs have met with unparalleled success and have grown to over 1,000 clubs with nearly 30,000 student members in schools throughout the Kingdom.

RSCN relies on NCCs to create and train the next generation of nature lovers and defenders through expanding student member awareness of the concepts of environmental conservation and wildlife protection in Jordan, while at the same time working to instill a spirit of exploration of nature through participation in educational programs provided by RSCN’s nature reserves.

NCCs also work to inspire a passion for Jordan’s wildlife among their members and to enhance their education through a school curriculum and enriching activities included in each NCC’s annual plan, which is implemented by NCC supervisors with direct support from RSCN staff.  The clubs strive to transform their members into ambassadors of nature conservation who carry their message to their schools, their homes, and the environment around them.
