The Environmental Media Guide

This guide was developed to confirm the depth and importance of the relationship between media and environment; as media is considered as the fourth authority which is responsible for shedding the light on what is important and touches upon our lives.

It is worth noting that the environmental challenges have increased recently not only in our country, but all over the world. As you know, the environmental challenges do not affect a specific geographical area, it is, instead, affected by the global environment and influences it at the same time. Consequently, these challenges impose more pressure on workers in the environmental sector, both Environmental NGOs and Governmental institutions.

Based on our understanding and awareness of this fact, we, the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, consider media a key partner in highlighting environmental issues, in order to address such issues in a more professional and objective way. From here comes the idea of the Environmental Media Guide to enhance the importance and the depth of our partnership, which we hope that it will grow to the extent that enables us to work side by side for the sake of our environment and our whole country.

The Guide contains information on the most vital local and International Environmental concerns, in addition to detailed information about the institutions working in the environmental sector in Jordan, providing each institution’s specialty and contact information. Moreover, it includes a long list of websites that contain a lot of environmental resources such as books, magazines, reports, etc. Importantly, this guide is merely a first step to gain access to an integrated and comprehensive guide. Our doors, therefore, are always open for any additions or amendments on the guide.
